For international founders, remote company formation in Dubai means the company can be registered without you being physically present. A residence visa needs you in the UAE, and a bank may ask for a branch visit or an interview.

Corporate Banking Built for Cross-Border Operations

A trade license is only as powerful as the banking behind it. UAE banks offer corporate accounts specifically designed for businesses operating across borders, with the payment rails, currencies, and digital tools international founders actually need. Features vary by bank. Bank account opening is subject to each bank’s KYC, compliance review and final approval. We prepare the file, pre-check it against the bank’s requirements, and if one bank declines we apply to the next.

What Dubai Free Zone Company Setup Actually Requires

A free zone company can be registered without you being in the UAE, but a residence visa cannot be issued entirely at a distance. These are the rules that decide what you can do from home and what needs a trip.

1 Ownership and partners

Most business activities allow full foreign ownership. There is no requirement for a UAE national partner in a free zone company, and neither shareholders nor managers need to be UAE residents. A shareholder can be an individual or a company, of any nationality.

2 Workspace

Dubai’s official investment portal states there is no compulsory physical office requirement for free zone companies, and that free zones offer virtual and flexible desk solutions for business licences. Any office you do lease has to sit inside the free zone itself.

3 Visa quota

A flexi desk carries a capped visa quota rather than an unlimited one. Free zone authorities set the quota against the workspace product you take, and increasing it usually means moving to a larger unit or applying to the authority.

4 What still needs you in person

Company registration can be completed remotely. A UAE residence visa cannot be finished at a distance, because the medical test and the Emirates ID biometrics both require your physical presence in the country.

Questions? Answers.

Yes. Foreign nationals can register a UAE free zone company entirely online. The process covers document submission, identity verification, and trade license issuance, all completed digitally. You do not need to travel to Dubai at any stage of the company formation process. A residence visa is different: the medical test and Emirates ID biometrics need you in the UAE, and a bank may ask for a branch visit or an interview.
No. A UAE residency visa is not required to form or operate a free zone company. Many international founders use their UAE company purely for global operations and never relocate to the UAE. A residency visa is a separate, optional step you can pursue later if your circumstances change.
It depends on the bank. Some banks onboard company owners through digital KYC, typically document submission and a video identity check, while others ask for a branch visit or an interview. Once your trade license is issued, our team will guide you through the entire banking process and match you with the right bank for your business. Bank account opening is subject to each bank’s KYC, compliance review and final approval. We prepare the file, pre-check it against the bank’s requirements, and if one bank declines we apply to the next.
A wide range of business activities can be licensed through UAE free zones, including consulting and advisory services, e-commerce businesses, international trading companies, digital agencies, technology firms, and investment holding companies. Over 2,500 licensed activities are available to choose from.
Your UAE trade license is issued once your documents are approved, and the timing depends on the free zone and your activity; we confirm it in your written quote. Bank account opening may take additional time depending on the bank’s compliance review, which varies by applicant profile and country of residence.
UAE corporate accounts can hold and transact in multiple currencies simultaneously. Common currencies supported include USD, EUR, GBP, AED, CNH, JPY, SGD, and HKD, and the full list depends on the bank selected.
Yes. UAE free zone companies can invoice clients anywhere in the world, receive payments in multiple currencies, and pay international suppliers, all through international bank transfers such as SWIFT. The UAE is not part of SEPA, so euro SEPA transfers need a European IBAN from a bank or payment provider that offers one.
Not by every bank. Some UAE banks open corporate accounts for free zone companies whose owners live outside the UAE, while others ask for a UAE residence visa, a branch visit or an interview. Bank account opening is subject to each bank’s KYC, compliance review and final approval. We prepare the file, pre-check it against the bank’s requirements, and if one bank declines we apply to the next.
